Summer Market

Here is the final installment of my vacation photos. One of our Vineyard adventures involved this adorable farmer's market, which had everything from homemade jam to beautiful flowers.
Although it is shocking for me to admit, this clutch was the only handbag I brought on this trip! Usually I would bring a few different ones, just to have the choice. But I just recently received this green clutch from a wonderful family friend, and thought that vacation would be a lovely time to try it out. In general, I am not a huge fan of clutches because they constantly occupy one of my hands. However, I think this one is very cute and I will still use it from time to time.
I hope you have enjoyed these vacation outfits!

Coastal Prep

Hello lovelies! This is part two of three in my installation of vacation posts. Now, I will admit that this outfit is a bit on the preppy side for me. Normally I stick to a more vintage style. But we were going out to a nice restaurant for dinner, and I could not resist the idea of going out to the harbor in this summery ensemble.
These photos were taken by my wonderful best friend Erin, who I am posing with in the eighth picture. She and her family were so nice to invite me on their annual trip, and I am so happy I got to experience all these amazing moments and sights with them.
I hope you enjoy your day! xo

Island Paradise

Hello darlings! I hope you are all having a wonderful Saturday!

Earlier this month, I promised to post outfit photos from my vacation on Martha's Vineyard, and I finally have them for you!
My best friend's family was staying just four houses down from this pretty beach, so this was where we did our first vacation photo shoot.
I have to say that as much as I LOVE this shirt, my favorite part of the outfit is the silver starfish necklace! I have been wanting one for quite some time, and I finally found the perfect one on the Vineyard. And at half of it's original price, it was clearly meant to be!

My first award!

I am so excited to have received this award from the wonderful Agnes Chen. It's really an honor and I appreciate it very much.

The rules of the award are the following:
1.When you receive the award, thank the person who gave it to you & post a link to his/her blog in your post.
2. Then you (receiver of the award) post eleven things about yourself
3. Answer the eleven questions the tagger has set for you
4. Choose eleven inspiring bloggers with under 200 followers, link their pages in your post, and create eleven questions for them to answer.
5. Go to their pages and tell them
6. Remember, no tag-backs!

So, here we go! Eleven things about myself:
1. I am positively in love with summer & wish it lasted all year.
2. At the moment, my favorite band is Amber Pacific.
3. My favorite movie is Remember the Titans.
4. I play the piano and write songs.
5. One day I hope to teach music to high schoolers.
6. Pink is my favorite color.
7. I do not like meat or fish.
8. I tend to be a rather jealous person.
9. Last month I saw Demi Lovato and Hot Chelle Rae.
10. I wish I was better at cooking.
11. I love Nutella!

Eleven questions from Agnes:
1. What is your favorite music genre? - Heavy metal
2. Lets say you had a plane crash accident and were stranded on a remote island and no one else survived except you and the person you hate, do you prefer to go by yourself or make friend with the person that you hate? and why? -I would prefer to make friends with the person I hate because two heads are often better than one in dire situations and I'm sure that we would both prefer to live.
3. Which chick flick movie do you like the most? -I adore The Notebook, I suppose that is a chick flick..
4. Choose one: shoes, bags, clothes or accessories? - Shoes.
5. If you could be another person for one day, who would it be? - Adele.
6. Brain or beauty? and why? - Brain because anyone with brains can see their own natural beauty :)
7. What do you think of same sex marriage? - I support it fully. I believe that love in any form is worthy of being acknowledged with a wedding.
 8. What is one thing that you regret the most in your life? - I regret wasting the words "I love you" on someone when I mistakenly thought I was in love.
9. What is one first physical thing in a guy that attracts you the most? (face, body, hair, etc etc..) - Often it is his eyes. You can tell a lot about a guy by looking into his eyes.

10. Who is your celebrity crush? - Ryan Gosling.

11. Coffee or ice cream? - Dear Lord this one is hard, but I think I have to choose coffee!

Here are the eleven fabulous blogs that I have nominated for this award (alphabetical):

And now eleven of my own questions:
1. When do you feel most beautiful?
2. Where do you go/ what do you do that puts you in a good mood?
3. If you were to get a tattoo tomorrow, what would it be?
4. What is the most amazing thing a friend has ever done for you?
5. Long hair or short?
6. Tea or coffee?
7. Favorite perfume?
8. What is the best book you have ever read?
9. What is something you wish you could do but feel like you can't?

Congratulations to all the nominees and thanks again to Agnes Chen!!

A Change of Scenery

Hello everyone! How are you? I apologize for not posting very much this week; things have been kind of crazy at my house. However, look forward to some interesting new posts in a little over a week, as I will be going on vacation starting this Monday! I am so excited to be spending four days with my best friend, and then another four with my family. I can hardly wait for a change of scenery and to go someplace I have never been before. I wish time would go faster!!

Anyway, today's post is a review on some products by Physician's Formula. In the picture, you see:
1. Black felt tip eye marker
2. Eye Shadow Shimmer Strips for Blue Eyes
3. Concealer Duo

First, for the marker. I personally do not wear a lot of eyeliner. Also, I have really fluttery eyelids. I guess they are very sensitive or something, because it is very hard to hold them still while applying make-up. But regardless of those two things, I really like this product. The tip of the marker is very fine, which allows for choice in how thick you want your line. If you want a thicker line, of course you can just fill it in a little.

Second, the eye shadow. This is my favorite product of the three. The colors are designed to go together in groups of three, and I think they do that very  nicely. I also think the shimmer is just right for my taste. But if you are looking for a matte shadow, this is not the palette for you.

Finally, the concealer. The only problem I have with this product is that the cream color does not match my foundation, so I have to use only a very small amount so that they will blend together instead of making my blemishes stand out any more!  (I've mostly used it to cover up a friend's tattoo, but that is beside the point...) As for the green, only a VERY small amount is needed. However, when the right amount of product is used, I think it does an excellent job of neutralizing red spots.

Thank you for reading my review! If you've tried any other Physicians Formula products that you really liked, let me know!

GREEN AND PINK: A WINNING COMBINATION

This was probably the best summer day I could have asked for. My friend Liv and I took a long walk through one of our favorite ocean-front towns, and took today's blog pictures in this lovely park. The weather was absolutely perfect. We treated ourselves to a new pair of jeans each (mine are white skinnies with ankle zippers), dinner at a nearby restaurant, and some soft serve coconut ice cream- yum! I am definitely looking forward to more wonderful summer afternoons like this one.

Inspiration- Ombre and Brightly Colored Hair

Brightly colored hairstyles are so much fun! They allow you to express your style in so many different ways. Today's inspiration comes from bright colors and the ombre technique. The first photograph is my favorite. I just adore the color palette, and if I were to dye my hair in an ombre style, I think those colors would be great. If I didn't use those colors, though, I would either try sea foam/teal or deep burgundy.
For anyone who is wondering 'What exactly is ombre?', it is actually a French word which means graduating or shading. It is a hair color technique in which the hair at the top of the head fades gradually into a different color, with no drastic transition line. What I like most about this style is that it looks really cool with almost any color combination. You can go wild, or keep it more natural.
Would you try an ombre style? Or bright, vibrant colors? Or maybe both?
I would love to hear your ideas!!

SMOOTH SAILING- feature on Revlon nail enamel

It's time for a feature on some of my favorite beauty products! When it comes to nail polish, the best products I own are made by Revlon.  I love their nail polishes because they apply so smoothly, and last longer than some of the other brands I own. (Sally Hansen makes a 10 Day No-Chip nail color, but in my experience it only lasts about 2 days before chipping.)

917 Plum Seduction, 766 Plum Baby, 235 Twinkled Pink, 762 Plum Attraction

480 Autumn Berry, 013 Sheer Innocence, 740 Get Reddy

These are mini nail polishes. They are so adorable, only .25 oz.
Butterfly, Waterfall, Tulip, Sparkle, Moss, Garden

In addition to nail polish, the Revlon products that I use are their Under-Eye Concealer, eye shadow palette, and foundation.
Colorstay Under-Eye Concealer SPF 15 in Medium, 12 Hour Eye Shadow in 01 Copper Spice, Colorstay Makeup in 240 Medium Beige

I really like the foundation and concealer. They blend well and are very comfortable to wear. The eye shadow looks nice but the texture is not very smooth compared to other shadows I use, such as my cherished Lancome eye shadow palette.

I will be happy to answer any questions about my experience with these products. I hope you have a wonderful Saturday!

*Which polish is your favorite?

OUT IN THE GARDEN

I think this bag is so adorable. The size does not make it the most functional purse in the world, but it is fine if you just need to take a few essentials on your journey. This blouse also happens to be one of my favorites, because I love the sea foam color.

24 July 2012

This park is so beautiful. It is one of my favorite places to go in the summer, because there are so many paths to explore. My best friend and I were lucky to escape the thunder storm which came not too long after we left.
The necklace I'm wearing was made by a friend of my former Pastor's, in Kenya. It has always held special value to me because I love to think about the way he had it sent all the way to me.
Enjoy this beautiful summery day!
